Risley Adams Wants To Bone Nacoma's Sister

Another day of waiting for a check. Another day of lounging around the river. I actualy caught a coupla fish yesterday evening and roasted them over the coals for dinner. I don't know what kind they were but they were pretty good. I'm gonna look up edible plants for this region and see if I can add something to the wilderness menu. Wow, I'm slowly weaning myself of sociatal dependance. This could be good or bad. Good because I'll have that freedom. Bad because it will only foster anti-social behavior. Whateverthefuck, I think it's pretty cool!

So far, I've had no plroblems with anyone at my campsite. I break camp around 7am and return around 5pm to set it up again so I'm not even there most of the time. I'm gonna try a trick I learned from a homeless guy back in Tulsa for catching fish with an old tire. Then I don't even have to mess with lines, hooks, or baits. I just set it up in the morning when I break camp and check it when I return in the evening. It will be a nice supliment to whatever else I may forage. I'm too scared to try eating turtles. I like turtles too much to ever want to kill them. Why bother when I can get fish? Fish are true evil and must be devoured at all cost.

Still here. Still livin' it like a muh.

Huck Finn's My Bitch

My good ol' Arkansas River is still busy not letting me down. I'm still having a blast camping all along the banks, never in the same spot more than two nights in a row. It's weird. It's like that whole section of the trail system is completely abandoned by the city of Pueblo. The gazebos, benches, and picnic tables are all overgrown and in disrepair. It's strange to go tromping through the high grass to find a perfectly good barbeque pit just sitting there being reclaimed by nature. The police don't even bother so I pretty much have a stretch of pristine, wooded river bank all to myself. Simply rocking.

The settlement check should be arriving any day now so I'll be rollin' on out soon.

I wrote a little ditty about this part of the experience and I'm posting it on the "Fog On the Arkansas" blog. Check it out, bitches.

Softshell Submarines

I quit the mission after the homeless-prick-in-charge accused me of breaking the vacuum cleaner as soon as he was done using it to clean his office. I grabbed my gear and called him a stupid prick on the way out to which he replied: " uh...".

I followed a trail along the river into the woods and found a choice spot right along my ol' river. Only here the river is much cleaner. I watch the gigantic soft-shell turtles jump out of the water like ocean creatures while I'm swimming/bathing. Fucking incredible!
Coffee and doughnuts for breakfast, biscuits and gravy for lunch at the soup kitchen in exchange for a quick sweep&mop. I don't have to do it but I like to keep the conscience square. After that it's off to the library for to check the email and update this rag and to do a spot of reading. When all that's done, it's back to the campsite to rest after the day's riggors.

Once I receive the settlement, I may have a hard time leaving good ol' Pueblo but it's not like I HAVE to leave at that point.

I DO AS I PLEASE, BITCHES!!!

Moss Isley of Colorado

Hey, turkeys!
Miss me? No? Good, 'cause I damn near forgot about this blog any-damn-way. So after 5oo-plus miles through thunderstorms, deadly lightning, flat tires in the middle of no-ass-where, and most of all, unrelenting, fiercely unforgiving winds from the south, the north, and the west, I finaly made it to Pueblo, Colorado. I had to walk the bike five miles into dumpy Ordway, CO from Sugar City for the wind was simply too strong to keep the bike upright. After a night at the RV park I hit the highway and saw the Rockies looming on the horizon. Fuckin' beauty! The ride into Pueblo was so great I didn't want it to end. Everything went my way. Smooth pavement, slight tail wind, drastic change of scenery, and gradual inclines that I barely felt.

So I'm in Pueblo for a few days, now. Cool town. Money's gettin' low so I signed in at the Wayside Cross Mission, a place where old hobos go who can't jump trains anymore, where I do light chores for room&board. As soon as Uncle's estate settles out, I'll start a checking account at a bank here with the check and be on my way. This should take place by the end of next week. As I said, Pueblo's cool but I'm itchin' to get accross those Rockies I see every day.

After all that, I'm still livin' it!

LIVIN'....................IT!!!!!!!!!

HA HAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I'm back! And I'm in Hutchinson, Kansas! That's right, bitches! I rode my bike from Tulsa to here!. After partyin' with my friends out a Keystone Lake for a few days, I headed out. It's been some hard riding, as the wind was only my friend when I was northbound. Now that I've turned west, she's betrayed me. She's all in my face and makin' the ride a drudgerous one.

That's OK. I'm hangin' out here in the Hutch 'till tomorrow then it's time to burn it some more. Here's a link to the most recent pics. I've got three more rolls on the way so there will be more relatively soon.
